Tile Partners for Humanity call on industry to help rebuild Gulf Coast

January 5, 2006

With so many hurricane-ravaged homes needing to be torn down and rebuilt along the Gulf Coast, Tile Partners for Humanity is urgently seeking help from the industry. The nonprofit organization is asking concerned members of the construction and building materials industry to stop by the TPFH booth at Surfaces, #G2144. There they will find build schedules and information on needed materials and labor. Updated project and build information will also be posted on www.tpfh.com.

“We desperately need tile, carpet and other flooring materials for use in our home building activities,” says Jim Pate, executive director of New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity, working in concert with TPFH to rebuild more than 500 homes in New Orleans, Jefferson Parish, and the devastated areas of St. Bernard and Plaquemines parishes, as well as other Gulf Coast communities.

“While we have many eager volunteers and Habitat partner families, we need professionals to work on our projects and help train volunteers to work with them,” he says.

For more information, contact TPFH executive director Allyson Fertitta at ally@tpfh.com, or call (770) 416-0200.
