The Marble Institute of
America (MIA)/
Stone World Magazine Industry Education
program turns its sights to Vermont and Canada for a two-day tour October 7-8.
Originally scheduled for May, the
rescheduled event in October offers “more quarry tours, and the opportunity to receive free airfare to the
event,” the MIA says.
Those that register before August
15th will earn a chance at a free airline ticket on Southwest Airlines to
Manchester, NH, compliments of Water Treatment Technologies (WTT). WTT
president Paula Perry indicated, "We are proud to support the stone
industry and the continuing education being offered by the Marble Institute and
TILE Magazine’s sister publication
Stone
World.
The following quarries are on the
tour list:
- E.L. Smith Quarry
- Stanstead Gray Quarry
- Danby Quarry
- Vermont Verde Antique Rochester Quarry
- Sutherland Falls Quarry
- Bethel White Quarry
In addition to visiting a number of quarries, two museums
are on the tour list: GranitExpo & Museum of Stanstead and the Vermont
Marble Museum.
